Joshua Rivera is a Queens and Bronx native, and started acting at age eight when his mother enrolled him in “The Boys and Girls Club of Queens” where he started to perform on stage. He quickly developed a passion for the arts and attended Talent Unlimited High School in New York. In his sophomore year, Joshua starred in an NYU thesis short film, Bedford Park Boulevard by Felix Thompson, and won the 2010 First Run Festival Craft Award for his performance. He later went on to star in such features as Babygirl by Macdara Vallely and SXSW Grand Jury Award Winner Gimme the Loot by Adam Leon. Joshua has currently been awarded “The Johnny Depp Scholarship” at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute where he is currently a student. He can be seen on ABC’s Ironside and NBC’s Law & Order: SVU. In his spare time, Joshua likes to contribute to his community by being active in groups such as The Seeds of Africa Foundation and Mothers Against Drunk Driving. He also enjoys writing and performing rap music with his friends.
